[QLD] Free Street Parking for City Workers @ Brisbane City Council (www.brisbanetimes.com.au)

Parking across Brisbane will be free in all council-allocated street spaces and reduced to a maximum of $5 at King George Square and Wickham Terrace car parks effective Friday.

More than 1000 parking meters citywide will be switched off from Friday morning and parking fines only issued for dangerous parking, such as in clearways, parking on a yellow line or blocking visibility.

Brisbane lord mayor Adrian Schrinner said the measure was being put in place to help essential workers continue their jobs in the city without having to pay for parking.
